| A Dog, a Porcupine, a Pair of Pliers and a Toyota | | This morning I went out to bring my Spunky girl in for some we time. I'd finally been able to leave her outside in her run, as the neighbours from next door had returned to the city.
Or at least, I thought I'd been able to leave her in her dog run, which is where she prefers to be at night.
She wasn't there. She'd managed to escape again, but thanks to rain the night before, I could follow her tracks to the neighbours RV, and then lost them in the high grass behind the backyard.
Found her waiting by the side of the road for me at the other end of town, just this side of a copse of woods and fully ripe fall wheat fields. When I got close enough to her I could see why she was just sitting there waiting.
She had a snout full of porcupine quills. A new first for Spunky. lol She hung her head when I got out of the car and let me lead her into the backseat without any resistance at all. Another first as she usually makes a game of getting in and out of the vehicle.
She didn't seem to be in any pain, but she sure was ashamed of herself. lol
I finally screwed up my courage to remove the quills myself, as going to the city and the vet was out of the question. She was whimpering and I...
| | Tips for fixing a leaky faucet | | Don't you just hate it when you have a leaky faucet? I think it is one of the most annoying things in life. That's why I've dedicated my free time to learning how to fix them! I would like to share with you tips for fixing your leaky faucet so you don't go insane like me!First figure out what kind of faucet you have so you can get replacement parts.Things You'll Probably Need:Groove joint pliers
Clean Rags
Adjustable Wrenches
Faucet Cartridge
Washers And Gaskets
Screwdriver Sets STEP 1: Turn off the water supply to the leaky faucet. Water shutoffs are often located under the sink but in older homes there may only be one main water shut off for the entire house, usually located where the water pipe enters (often facing the street). Close the sink drain; cover it with a rag to catch dropped parts. STEP 2: Open the faucet and let any water in the pipes drain out. STEP 3: Put in the sink drain plug or put a towel in the sink bottom. Faucets have small screws and you don't want to lose one down the drain. STEP 4: Remove the faucet handle. Virtually all handles are attached with a screw often hidden under a decorative...

| Pins And Pliers In DIY Dentistry | | Reported in the news today is a poll which has found almost one in 10 people have tried DIY dentistry, using an array of household implements including pliers, pins and superglue.Around a quarter of those who decided to treat themselves had attempted to remove a tooth with pliers.Three in 10 tried to whiten their own teeth using household products, and 12% attempted to take a tooth out using a string tied to a door handle.Other DIY procedures people admitted to include using household glue to stick down a filling or crown (11%) and popping an ulcer with a pin (19%).Eight per cent had tried to mend or alter dentures and 6% had attempted to stick down a loose filling with chewing gum (6 per cent).Amazing!!!I hate the dentist but do go for my children's sake too, I don't want them to have a fear of dentists but many people are terrified to go and resort to DIY, So, have you got stories to share of DIY dentistry, either you've done on yourself or know of someone who's done this? | |

| | Whats the craziest thing that has happened to you while catfishing? | | The biggest Flathead ive cause was 32 pounds. And accually it was a lucky catch.I always fish out of the Kansas River right in Topeka. I had a 1 pound channel on my stringer and i was pulling it in to go home about a half hour later and a flathead had eatin my channel. Luckily the stringer got stuck in its gills and i was able to get it out of the water myself. I had to make 2 trips to my car just to get my stuff and the fish. There are some ponds that the city owns across the street from my house so i released him in there after my fiance took a few pics. I will probably be putting a picture of Me my brother and my nephew on here so you all can see it.Has anything like this happened to you while fishing. | |

| I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this piece.. | | I made this from steel wire I got from the dollar store and a pair of rusty pliers. I ran out of money for now to buy any new canvases. I thought I would try my hand at wire sculpture. This is a baby looking down at his feet. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this. My son likes it, but he is nine and I was hoping for a more adult perspective. I find it really hard using new materials and I am feeling a little insecure. Thanks for your help!~† | |
